1. Another Dollar
Song note: "Another game of C.Y.A." Since so many of you have asked, I thought I'd explain this right up front.  C.Y.A. is "Cover Your Ass", a widely used investment banking industry phrase referring  to making sure that you have over-done everything, thus leaving no questions about the thoroughness of your work, and allowing no questions from the client. It often seems that we push ourselves forward by the closure of the day, not by the promise of the day that is yet to come. We struggle to conquer our fears, losses and setbacks by focusing on the hope that tomorrow may just prove to be a little bit better.

2. If You Could Know

I watched as a mother and her child struggled to find shelter from the streets during a driving South East Asian monsoon. One quick glimpse into their eyes spoke volumes about the challenges of a life outside my cozy little pleasure zone.

3. Original Sin
I feel that our actions and thoughts are dictated not by our personal will and the goal of who we want to become, but rather by who we were supposed to become.

4. Barren Ground

A story song offering a look into the cold, isolated and complex world of decisions faced by a nameless political leader. How often they must wish they could run from the responsibility and weight of their decisions. Our faceless protagonist is tortured by the fears of failure and the guilt of action and in the same moment he is thrilled by the shear force of having power.

5. World Party

World Party looks at the brighter side of life. The optimism and hope held by a soul who has just discovered that life 'is' worth living after all. I felt like a piece of myself I have never known was released through this song. All the things that I was never able to express, all the good things in life.

This song is for those of us who are subject to major mood swings. It explores the feelings of helplessness and the loss of control associated with a plunge into sorrow. We know when they are coming, we can feel it in our chest. And then...bam! Here I come round again - right into the hole.

7. Haunted

Have you ever felt love slip away? Slowly it fades from your grasping fingers. Each night you wonder why it escapes you and what you did wrong. Of course, you know that did everything you could to make it work...or did you?

8. Amen (Superstar)

Everybody needs something to believe in, something to hold on to when the going is rough. We find it in religion, alcohol, exercise - whatever moves you is where you seek solace. I think we all believe that one day things will get better and we will really know what it feels like to be home.

9. Somewhere in the Mirror 

So many people hide from themselves, from their fears, from their perceptions. Unfortunately, the mirror won't lie to you. Look into it and you will see that scared, lonely, wanting person who tears apart that which they do not understand.
